AARP Tax Info

Free assistance is available at the Hardin County Public Library, 100 Jim Owen Drive, Elizabethtown, KY.  This service is provided through the AARP Tax Aide program sponsored by the AARP Foundation. Volunteer Counselors are trained by AARP to prepare taxes.

Although the program is supported by the AARP Foundation and is designed primarily to help older, low and moderate income taxpayers, persons of any age will be assisted. Individuals do not need to be members of AARP. Counselors will help complete Federal and State returns, taking advantage of all tax benefits the taxpayer is entitled to receive.

Counselors are not trained to assist with business or farm tax returns .

***Bring these items with you to have your 2019 tax return filed***

​

• Proof of identification (photo ID)

• Social Security cards for everyone to be included on return An Individual Taxpayer identification Number (ITIN) assignment letter may be substituted for you, your spouse and/or your dependents if you do not have a social security number

• Birth dates for everyone on the tax return

• Wages,, pension or other income statements (Forms W-2, W2G, 1099-R, 1099-Misc from all employers/payers

• Interest and dividend statement from banks (Form 1099-INT and DIV)

• Brokerage statement

• Total paid for daycare provider and the daycare provider’s tax identifying number such as their Social Security number or business Employer Identification Number

• Forms 1095-A, B or C, affordable Health Care Statements

• A blank check for proof of bank account routing and account numbers for direct deposit

• Bring your TAX Records envelope with 2018 tax year’s Federal and State returns and other tax documents.
